Turquoise-colored pools, forests that smell of resin, waterfalls making the sound we’ve been waiting to hear for months… Les Bauges is the mountain range that’s always been right under our noses, yet we don’t explore it enough. Have you taken the time to visit Annecy, Aix-les-Bains, or Chambéry? Now it’s time for canyoning! Just 30 minutes away, you’ll find wild gorges carved into limestone cliffs, water as cool as can be, and an atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else.
Combining water hiking with thrills, you’re off on an exhilarating adventure through the waterfalls. Why choose Les Bauges for canyoning?
An ideal location nestled between lakes and Alpine peaks, just a stone’s throw from Annecy, Aix-les-Bains, and Chambéry, and less than 2 hours from Lyon. Refreshingly cool water, especially delightful in the middle of August. The untamed beauty of the Bauges Mountains, unspoiled and far from mass tourism.
Come explore some steep-walled gorges as we follow the riverbed together! Featuring:
Canyons that are easy to reach—no long hikes to get there. Routes for all skill levels, from “I’ll give it a try, but I’m a little scared” to “Move over—I’m looking for challenging rappels.” A wide variety of activities: sliding down natural rock faces, jumping into pools, rappelling, and water hikes for the little ones.
Yes, it's true—we have our favorite canyons. The ones that make us even more eager to get up in the morning with one thing on our minds: seeing you tackle the obstacles with a big smile on your face.
For many, it’s simply the most beautiful canyon in the region for beginners. And it’s easy to see why. A river that shifts from turquoise blue to emerald green depending on the time of day and the light, a wild, wooded setting, and jumps you can do over and over again. Why do we love it so much?
Jumps ranging from 1 to 9 meters—still optional. The option to repeat each obstacle as many times as you like. Water in incredible shades ranging from turquoise to emerald green. A wild, unspoiled setting far from mass tourism. Very little walking on the way there or back. A perfect activity for families or friends, for ages 8 and up.
