At CANRIV, we welcome children ages 6 and up. For this age group, we select canyons that are specifically suited to them: no mandatory jumps, short rappels, and natural slides that are accessible to even the youngest participants. Canyoning for kids ages 6 and up in the Rhône-Alpes region is possible—and it’s fun!

No, as long as the activity is supervised by state-certified instructors. At CANRIV, every canyoning outing for children is carefully planned in advance: we select a canyon appropriate for the children’s age and skill level, check the water flow, and conduct a thorough safety briefing before departure. Your child will be equipped with a certified wetsuit, helmet, and harness.

It’s best if your child knows how to swim, but it’s not required for all routes. We offer canyons with short, shallow swimming sections that are perfect for children who are just starting out. Please let us know when you book, and we’ll choose the most suitable route.

The canyoning season in Rhône-Alpes generally runs from May to September. Outside of this period, weather conditions and river flow make it impossible to guarantee safe excursions. Book early for the summer season—slots fill up fast!
