01
Reception & Facilities
Meet early at the base of Les Ecouges. We have a long day ahead of us. Your CANRIV guide will welcome you, check everyone’s technical gear, and outfit you for 8 hours of adventure: full-body wetsuit, socks, helmet, and harness. We won’t set off until we’re sure everyone is ready.
02
Ecouges Supérieur, the upper part
We start at the top. The Upper Ecouges Canyon immediately opens up into an exceptionally steep gorge. A series of technical rappels down dizzying limestone cliffs leads to the highlight of the day: the 70-meter waterfall. A rappel into the void that leaves a lasting impression. The guide carefully supervises each section.
03
A well-deserved break between the two halves
Between the two sections, there's a short break to catch our breath, eat, and mentally prepare for what's next. Because it's not over yet.
04
Ecouges Inférieur, the lower part
We head back to the lower section of the Ecouges. The scenery changes; the canyon widens slightly and features a series of natural slides, jumps into magnificent pools, and rappels down waterfalls carved into the rock. The large 28-meter waterfall at the end of the route brings an already action-packed day to a close. For those who still have energy left, there’s an optional final jump at the Gourd du Fond.
05
Return trip
It takes 25 minutes to get to the starting point. Our legs feel heavy, but we’re all grinning from ear to ear. Eight hours in the Vercors—that really takes its toll.
06
Removal of Equipment and Return of Materials
We return the equipment. Everyone is soaked, tired, and happy. The wetsuit did a remarkable job today.
07
A Fun Time & Memories
We’ll relive the day through the guide’s narration. The 70-meter waterfall seems even taller in our memories. CANRIV offers souvenir packages to capture this exceptional day in the Vercors: professional photos and videos in the Standard Package, Couple Package, or Premium Package. Ask your guide for pricing on the day of the tour.
